CARRYING/BRIDGING CHANNELS
Carrying/Bridging Channels reinforce steel stud walls in non-loadbearing, loadbearing walls, and partitions. They are twisted into stud knockouts, stabilizing against stud twisting from wind or pressure. They are also used in drywall ceiling construction, where furring channels attach perpendicularly to these channels, which hang from the overhead structure.
